Samsung Medison, a health care machine unit of Samsung Electronics that specializes in developing diagnostic imaging products, said on Wednesday it programs to get Sonio, a Paris-centered startup that helps make AI-powered software program for ultrasound workflows, for about $92.7 million (KRW 126 billion).
The French startup’s AI assistant is aimed at supporting obstetricians and gynecologists with the analysis and documentation of ultrasound examinations, and it has also obtained regulatory clearance in the United States (Food and drug administration 510(k)) for Sonio Detect, a item that utilizes deep mastering algorithms to boost the image quality of ultrasound scans in real time.
